Alfonsina y el Mar is a timeless song arranged by hundreds of people and for so many different instruments. This is a version arranged for solo piano and published by MELOS. I absolutely adore this song.
http://martinbills.com/ I feel extremely fortunate to have been invited by Martin Bills to perform two of his pieces. I consider these two recordings "work in progress" but there are moment where Martin's luminous voice comes through. They are of contrasting styles; one is lyrical and based on celtic idioms (and quite aetherial) and the second a Latin fiesta originally written for solo guitar.
Oneireftika (I dreamed) is a song by the Greek Kostas Giannidis (Giannis Kostantinidis) who was one of the towering figures in Classical and Popular music in Greece and abroad. I play this usually in the evenings to remind me of all the times when my parents used to sing with their friends and I was trying to make up the song chords from a 'fake book' style photocopy. A nostalgic nod to my childhood and my family.
